Leith vs Falkirk RFC 2nd XV: 3pm KO at Academy Park

Tomorrow sees Leith hosting Falkirk RFC 2nd XV at Academy Park (3pm KO) in our final warm-up game before the new league campaign commences on 30th August.

We’ve not welcomed Falkirk to Academy Park since a BT Bowl fixture in February 2006, which saw the visitors claim a 33-12 victory. The previous season had seen the sides compete in the same league, with Falkirk winning National League Division 4 comfortably in 2004-05. League fixtures that season saw the Sunnysiders triumph twice over Leith by similar scorelines to that of the following year, and the West Lothian side have shot up the leagues with their 1st XV now playing in National League 2.

We look forward to welcoming this Falkirk 2nd XV side, who themselves compete in BT Caledonia Division 3 – Midlands League, this Saturday. They come into the game off a narrow loss to Trinity in a friendly midweek.

Leith will be looking to build on their victories over Fife Southern and Hyndland over the past two weeks. The game is sure to present a good challenge, and will be a fitting test this close to the big kick off. As ever your support for the guys is greatly appreciated, and here's to a good game.

Leith start as follows:
1 Robert Stitt, 2 Willie Cook, 3 Paul Allison, 4 Neil Paterson, 5 Ben Place, 6 Doddie McHardy, 7 Greg Hancock, 8 Mark Phillips (capt);

9 Ryan Burgess, 10 Blair Skipper, 11 Ross Kilgour, 12 Doug Watters, 13 Craig Smith, 14 Ross Marwick, 15 Kenny Dannfald (v.capt)

16 Sam Hall, 17 Stuart Fox, 18 Craig Winton, 19 Pietro Guerrera, 20 Russell Smith, 21 Dave Robertson, 22 Steven Eadie; 23 Kyle Gow; 24 Andy MacIntosh, 25 Cal McKay, 26 Sam Walker, 27 Tom Lawrie, 28 Andy Barr, 29 Lucas Shearon.

Come on Leith!
