History

Lennox Head Rugby Union Club ('The Trojans') was formed after a chat at the local nursery where foundation President Rik Buhl, inaugural captain and coach Mick Sheather and club stalwart Rhona Fraser met one day. One thing led to another and dreams soon turned to reality.

The Trojans have come a long way since. In its first year the third grade side won the minor premiership and in the grand final became FNC major premiers - a stunning achievement. The second season saw more success with the team finishing runners up in a heart rending, hard fought grand final against Mullumbimby.

Most importantly was the addition of the junior section under the expert and experienced eyes of Graeme Barnes and Tony Bindon. The junior side has grown beyond all expectations and will in 2005 field sides at under 8, 10 (two sides), 12, 13, 15, and 17's!

The senior squad has also progressed winning the grand final of the inaugural Village competition in 2004. The addition of an under 19 team for the first time in 2005 will further cement Lennox Head's position as the foremost rugby union club on the Far North Coast.
