Lenzie 30 Garnock 31

Lenzie 30 Garnock 31

Lenzie expected a closely contested game against old friends Garnock RFC and this proved to be the case. Lenzie started the game well and David McCrae opened the scoring with a well taken score. The next period of the game belonged to Garnock who ran in 3 unanswered scores following good use of their backs and weak Lenzie defence. An excellent break by Baldman late in the first half led to a score for the supporting Patterson to offer some hope for Lenzie.

Lenzie took control of the game in the second half and scored a further try through Williams however Scouller was not having a good day with his boot and further chance to close the gap were missed.

Garnock continued to offer a threat and scored a further try to take their total to 31 points which appeared to take them out of sight however Lenzie scored again through Morrison and were unfortunate when Moir appeared to score only for the referee to be unsighted.

In the last move of the game Lenzie moved the ball well and Condie looked to have made the line however he stepped outside the touch line before grounding the ball to leave Garnock with their win.
