Having already secured promotion, they settled quickly & took an early lead when Vivika Turner deflected Haidee Castle's powerful shot past the visitors' 'keeper. Haidee, having previously hit the post following another pile-driver, made no mistake shortly afterwards in scoring Letchworth's second. Both teams shuffled their pack & Leighton began to threaten the Letchworth defence. Goalkeeper Lorna Alcock stood firm but she could do nothing to prevent Leighton from scoring a cleverly taken goal, to close the gap. Letchworth regrouped & worked hard to take control again. They were rewarded when Haidee added her 2nd from a short corner, after yet another exchange of passes in the visitors' circle. Alison Adams scored Letchworth's 4th minutes into the second half and, as 'Player of the Match' Tara Belcher continued to open up the Leighton Buzzard defence, with her surging counter-attacks, Leighton Buzzard were no longer able to respond. Haidee scored two more before the final whistle, to take her tally to 4 in the match & to seal her team's biggest margin of victory this season. The 4s play their final league match in 2 weeks time, against table-toppers Saffrron Walden, to decide who will be champions.
