5 clubs teams compete in Mixed competition

Having finished runners-up at the recent Shefford & Sandy Tournament, the U.10 A team went one better on Sunday, in Luton. Fortunately, they weren't put off by the wet weather & came home undefeated.
Their results were as follows:

Won 1-0 v L Buzzard A (Isabelle Spreckley)
Won 6-0 v Olney A (Addison Scott 2, Tilda Haywood 2, James Scoot, Leo Mc Kenna)
Won 7-0 v Bedford B (James 3, Addison 2, Leo, Tilda)
Won 1-0 v Aylesbury B (James)
Letchworth A 2 Shefford & Sandy A 1 (Addison, Ellen Campbell)

Honor Bentley was the only member of the squad not to score but she more than made up for that with her commitment to winning the ball back for her team.

The B team struggled against their more highly ranked opponents and their results were as follows:

Lost 0-3 v S/Sandy A; Lost 0-5 v Bedford A; Lost 0-2 v Aylesbury A & Lost 0-2 v Luton A

Squad: Morgan Randall, Leo Gravatt, Toby Wade, Darcey Allen, Mia Endacott, Emily Shackleton, Erin Hall & Safia Clawson.

The U.12s played later in the day & in much better weather conditions.
The results in their pool games were as follows:

Won 1-0 v Leighton Buzzard A (Jacob Denaeyer)
Won 2-0 v Luton A (Lottie Giles; Thomas Spreckley)
Drew 1-1 v Bedford B ( Nadia Vanmaurik)

In the semi-final, they beat Shefford & Sandy B 2-1 (Finn Carr; Thomas Spreckley) but in the final they lost 0-4 v Bedford A.

Squad: Daniel Ross (GK); Jack Harvey; Josh Squires; Michael Trulock;Leila Ramsey and the 5 goalscorers.

Two very young U.8 teams played in a Quicksticks tournament in the morning and drew & lost their matches.

Congratulations to everyone who took part and well done to all the medal winners!

Many thanks to Matt Scott, Colin Campbell, Cliff Watts, Matthew Spreckley, Rich & Ethan Carr; Clare & Martin Major and Grant & Sarah Wisson for their help with the coaching , managing & umpiring on the day.
