Our First Team play their penultimate fixture of the season as Purton visit Bassett Road for a Wednesday night Hellenic League Division One West fixture.

It is a crucial game for us as we look to avoid finishing bottom of the table and complete what would be our best finish since returning to the West section three years ago. Our performances in recent weeks have been excellent and our general upturn in form since the new year has been a credit to everyone involved with the club.

Manager David Richardson has good reason for wanting the team to do themselves justice against Purton on Wednesday. He doesn't look back too fondly on the performance we gave in the away fixture...

"The away performance is probably one of the poorest I have witnessed since taking over the management of Letcombe, the one thing I will always demand from the team is workrate and commitment and I felt it was missing that day. We need 3 more points to ensure that we stay off the bottom of the league, with 2 games to play."

One of the key things behind our good displays in recent weeks has been the fact that we have been able to have consistency in our team selection. That should continue tomorrow although we are without Andy Goodchild and Tom Broad. The squad in full is as follows: Danny Joyce, Jack Hamblin, Luke Stone, Matt Pill, James Wright, Adam Claydon, Owen Shaw, Chris Hewitt, Calum Pryce, Dan Hoskin, Dan Courtney, David Richardson and Tom Stone.

We take on a Purton side that will be looking to cement their grip on 6th place in the table. The match is a 6:30pm start at Bassett Road and all support for our players will be more than welcome!
