Manager gives us his thoughts on Longlevens defeat.

Saturday saw us run league leaders Longlevens close and but for two avoidable goals, we could easily have pulled off a victory against the early season pace setters.

Manager David Richardson has certainly overseen an upturn in performances, even if the results haven't quite got gone our way yet. He is now on a work trip to Australia, but on arrival "Down Under" he took the time to give us thoughts on the weekend.

Here's what Dave had to say:

"Yet again on Saturday we have paid the price for conceding two soft goals. The first we didn't put pressure on the ball and then the second our decision making caused us defensive issues, if we can remove these small errors; that at this level you get punished for, I am confident we can start a run of positive results.

The above said, I was delighted with the response and the performance for 80 minutes of the game we were arguably the better side against a team who are certainly going to be there or there abouts come the end of the season. I thought the lads did exactly what me and Steve asked for and the work rate was fantastic. Not many teams are out working us at the moment, which is showing me the desire that the team has to turn this around.

The key areas for us to work on over the coming weeks is our decision making in the defensive 3rd as well as the decision making in the final third. We have scored in 3 of the last 4 games, which is great but there certainly could have been more than 6 scored by us.

I am now away until the 16th December with work, so I leave the team in the capable hands of Adam Claydon and Steve Alman, they know exactly the direction we are trying to go and I know they will continue to focus on the key areas and I am hoping they can start to pick up some positive results."

Everyone at the club wishes Dave a safe trip to Australia and we look forward to welcoming back for the busy Christmas period. The players are clearly playing for the manager and the coaching staff and will be determined to get some good results in his absence.
