A good work-out for the young Letcombe reserve side against their Oxfordshire Senior league opponents. Charlie Knight gave Letcombe the lead, but a quick break down the right and a low cross gave the visitors the opening to equalise. Bailey Abrams and Chris Pocock were working hard at the heart of the Letcombe defence, with Nick Monger and Lewis Ralphs prominent in midfield.
Mansfield Road took the lead early in the second half when a quick exchange of passes opened up the Letcombe defence, but the hosts gradually took control of the game as their superior fitness began to tell. Owen Shaw went close before Angelo Fragata was brought down as he was about to shoot, and Charlie Knight scored from the resulting penalty.
A fair result, and a game played in an excellent spirit.
