Both Broads in First Team Squad.

Letcombe will be looking to put last week's troubles at Lydney to one side as we make a second consecutive trip to Gloucestershire, with Shortwood the destination.

The players were despondent after the Lydney match last week and it is fair to say, the journey to the Forest of Dean is long enough, without having to drive home after a 5-0 defeat. We will take heart though from the fact that on their day, Lydney are a phenomenal at home, just ask run away league leaders Longlevens who have been beaten there, 4-0, already this season. That game apart, our recent performances have been good and two weeks ago we went to Milton and beat our Hellenic Premier League opponents by a goal to nil. That is the level of performance we simply must look to attain at Shortwood tomorrow.

Manager David Richardson will be back in the dug out for the Purton match on 20th December and with no game next week for the first team, this is the final match he misses. In his absence, Adam Claydon will manage the side tomorrow and he will be boosted by the return of captain Tom Stone who brings a vocal presence to the middle of the park that we missed at Lydney. More good news ahead of tomorrow is that Tom Broad returns to action having missed the last few weeks with work commitments. Tom's younger brother, Harry, is also back in the first team squad after some great displays for our reserves this season. Everyone at Letcombe knows what a good player Harry Broad will be and it will be great to see him back involved tomorrow.

Elsewhere, we include another youngster, Ross Packham, in the squad for the second week running. We will be looking to Luke Stone and Jack Hamblin to recreate their rock solid defensive performance that they showed at Milton tomorrow. Another of our senior players, Matt Pill, will be looking to grab himself a third goal in four matches. Andy Goodchild and Dan Hoskin are unavailable this week. The squad in full is as follows: Shapland, Claydon, T.Stone, L.Stone, Hamblin, Clark, T.Broad, H.Broad, Hawkins, Pryce, Pill, Packham, Thomas.

Shortwood United are in the 8th place in the table and play their football in Nailsworth at Meadowbank. They are always a decent side and our players will go there expecting a competitive match, knowing a good result will be a welcome confidence boost. The lads are determined to recapture the spirit and work ethic that has been so evident in recent weeks. When we work hard as a group, we are a tough side to play against, no matter the opposition.

All support for our players is of course welcome for 3pm kick off in Hellenic League Division One West.
