Letcombe picked up another point in their quest to move away from the bottom of the table, and are now unbeaten in their last three league games, collecting five points in the process.

Letcombe had the better of the first half and took the lead after 6 minutes. A back pass was intercepted by Andy Goodchild, who was brought down by Clanfield keeper Mike Hedges. He escaped with a caution, and Calum Pryce hit the post with the resulting penalty, but Matt Pill was quickest to react and placed the rebound into the net.

Letcombe had chances to increase their lead early in the second half. A low free kick from Adam Claydon was well held by Hedges, and then Calum Pryce cut the ball back to Andy Goodchild whose shot was blocked. A great run and pass from Owen Shaw gave Matt Pill an opening, and his shot hit a defender`s arm, but the referee waved `play on`.

Clanfield gradually took control of the game, and equalised mid-way through the half. The visitors broke quickly following a Letcombe corner, and with both central defenders having gone forward for the corner, Clanfield took advantage of the space and Ollie Hawkins finished coolly. Former Letcombe player Adam Pendell hit the post for Clanfield, and Danny Joyce dived to turn a fierce shot from Matt Chettham round the post. The visitors almost won the game in the final seconds. Luke Stone was cautioned for a deliberate handball, and the resulting free kick found the unmarked Adam Pendell, but his header from six yards was saved by Danny Joyce.

Both sides were left to reflect that they had chances to win the game, but a draw was probably a fair result.
