Saturday is the opening day of the season for Letcombe Reserves and our new management team of Matt Clark and Marc Merritt will take charge for the first time.

Both Clark and Merritt have played a large number of times in our first team and they will be a really good influence on the young players in particular. Last season Dennis Stock blooded numerous 16, 17 and 18 year olds continuing the Letcombe tradition of giving youngsters an opportunity to play senior football.

A number of those youngsters remain in the squad including the likes of Tom Marshall, keeper Dan Rolls and Adam Finney. The squad for this weekend will be topped up by experienced new signings in James Tyler and Rob Owen and also includes Paul Farrell who played for the First Team at New College last weekend.

The squad in full is as follows: Dan Rolls, Tom Marshall, James Wright, Marc Merritt, Ryan Higgs, James Tyler, Luke Ballard, Ryan Strange, Adam Finney, Paul Farrell, Rob Owen, Charlie Harris, Daryl Johnson, James Webster.

The Reserves have impressed in friendlies against Abingdon Town and Hanney and will be looking to get the season up and running on Saturday. Kick off at Bassett Road is 3pm and all support for our new look side, and managers, will be more than welcome.
