Letcombe twice came back from two goals down to earn a point on a wet pitch at Letcombe after heavy overnight rain.
An inept first half defensive performance saw Letcombe gift four goals to their opponents. After 6 minutes James Lambert was given a free run to meet a free kick and side foot home at the near post. Mid-way through the half James Glover netted for Letcombe following a pass from Adam Bruce, but he was ruled offside. Old Woodstock increased their lead soon afterwards, a long ball downfield eluding the entire Letcombe defence, and allowing Lewis Coyle to run through and score.
Letcombe pulled a goal back a minute later, a pass from Adam Bruce giving James Glover the chance to shoot. His effort was parried by keeper Steve Dennett, but Tom Stone turned the rebound into the net from close range. Letcombe were level three minutes later, a long free kick from Luke Faircloth being headed back from beyond the far post by Adam Pendell, enabling Mark Denny to head home.
Three penalties followed in five minutes. An unnecessary challenge by Mark Denny allowed Craig Robinson to score from the spot, and then Letcombe were awarded a penalty for a foul on Mark Denny, but Adam Bruce`s spot kick was saved by Steve Dennett. A reckless challenge by Luke Faircloth then gave Old Woodstock another penalty, allowing Craig Robinson to increase their lead.
After harsh words at half time, Letcombe produced a much improved second half performance. Craig Robinson should have put Old Woodstock further ahead but shot wide before Adam Pendell reduced the arrears with a glancing header from a Luke Faircloth free kick. Tom Doig saved Letcombe with a great clearance off the line with 10 minutes remaining, and Adam Fecher appeared to have equalized soon afterwards. The assistant did not flag, but the referee deemed that Adam Pendell was active as he jumped out of the way of the ball in the six yard box and was adjudged offside. Letcombe got the point their second half fight back deserved with 4 minutes left, a low cross from Adam Fecher being fumbled into his own net by keeper Steve Dennett.
