Ince Rose Bridge 40 - Leyland Warriors 20
The young Warriors played a fantastic game despite the horrendous weather.
Leyland are now well in their stride with the game of rugby league, they are training hard and putting into practice everything they have learnt and making fantastic progress each week. Both the coaches and parents very proud.
Leyland knew it was not easy coming into the season as a new team, playing against a lot of experienced teams but this week the Warriors were up for a good game and gave it to Ince, showing some great skill.
Cameron, Joshua, Duran, Harry, Matthew and Harrison lead in defence putting in great tackling, dropping on loose balls and encouraging some very cold and reluctant players.
After 3 quick tries to Ince man of the match Cameron Harris almost pulled back the score with two tries scored on the right wing after an excellently executed pass from Matthew Parkinson at stand off.
Martin Bradshaw took some good runs despite not being well. Joshua Cooper narrowly missed out on a try but secured a try in the second half after an inspiring team talk from the parents.
Duran Watson made great yards for Leyland in every run and scored one try. Matthew Parkinson and Harrison Smith lead the team in attack, passing the ball fantastically well even in the rainy conditions.
Great core handling skills gave the Warriors control over the ball throughout the game and Harry Ashton scored in the last few minutes of the game with a superb run down the field.
The whole team should be very proud of the way they played and keep the hard work and commitment going, they are improving every week and this week's match shows that.
