Lightcliffe put in another top showing against strong opposition, to gain a well deserved victory.

Again the bowling performance was pivotal. Daani Ahmed's early dismissal of captain Adam Frost was a blow for the home side, and tight bowling from co-opener Jordan Pickles kept Undercliffe in check. Just when it seemed the top order might generate impetus, Pickles and Liam's Holmes and Collins bagged 2 wickets each to leave the home side struggling.

When the faster pace of Holmes became more to the liking of the middle order batters (with some big boundaries), skipper Jack Booth sensibly swapped the bowling to the slow medium of Jake Broadbent - with results as his 3-9 return proved.

Regan Broadbent looked sharp behind the stumps (a low catch and stumping to boot) and Louis Barker along with late call-up Kieran Collins patrolled the boundaries with enthusiasm.

With James Hodkinson and Rhys Thomas both stepping up and restricting the runs late on in the innings, it could genuinely be said to be an all-round team performance.

Lightcliffe took their positive attitude into their batting with Regan Broadbent and Liam Collins demolishing a third of the target in the first two overs.

Despite the fall of wickets the approach was consistent and Barker and Holmes both played their shots to ensure there were no shocks and 7 spare overs at the finish.
