The LCC Fantasy League relaunch hit a fence as big as Aintree's Beecher Brook, as Jonathan (Jocky) Wilson threatened to walk away from Wakefield Road.

On a day that "Rule The World" triumphed in the Grand National Steeplechase in Liverpool, ambitions' and passions' ran high in the Sun Inn Lightcliffe on Saturday evening, as the Rules & Pricing of LCCs runner's in the 2016 Fantasy League were revealed.

Based primarily on their 2015 outing's, there were few surprises about the "front runners" the First teams's Suleman Khan, (new signing) Ian Philliskirk, or Captain Alex Stead - all valued at over £7,000,000.

1st XIs Vice Captain "Jocky" Wilson' looked to be heading up the hill toward's a transfer to Hartshead Moor, as he reacted angrily to his scandalously under-priced rating of £1,500,000.

Jonathan, who missed a big slug of last season, owing to knee damage sustained whilst "shelling" an easy chance at deep-ish Mid On (an incident later revealed to be due to inconsistent "napping" of the outfield surface by groundsman J R Heyhoe) - threatened a walk -out, as the lower points total accrued, revealed his abilities merited parity with club Chairman Steve Hartley (himself bitter about his rating merely as a batter), and one-eyed 3rdXI uber-veteran Kevin Booth.

The evening was saved when Club Secretary Nigel Broadbent inadvertently destroyed Wilsons written Transfer Request, due to using it as a cloth to clear up the content's of Micheal Brookes coat pocket, which overflowed in his hurried attempts' to use two white £5 notes' as down-payment for the first Fantasy League Team of 2016.

No one will begrudge Jocky a successful season - especially as he is likely to figure heavily in many Team Selection's in the Fantasy League. The backbone of the 1stXI for a number of seasons, he's tipped to have a fine outing.

Club President John Brooke summed up the mood with a celebratory Half stating "Their's nothing like poor abbreviation to upset the balance of ambition's of a great club like what ours is".

Fantasy Rules, Squad Lists and Entry Forms will be mailed out to all Members shortly, with an aim to Kick Off the 2016 season in style.
