Lightcliffe make the Under11 Halifax Collinson Cup Semi Final
A strong start to the season
Apologies for lack of reports this year - it has been a busy time getting teams and games organised for the juniors. A comfortable win for the side tonight means that they have won their group and have made it into the semi finals of the Collinson cup competition. One match was abandoned against Blackley (due to freezing wind and rain back in the 'winter' stage of the season), 2 were conceded by opposition, and 2 provided the team with substantial wins. Runs have been scored by Finn Brookes and Ben Horne (2x 25 retires apiece in both of their innings so far), Charlie Davy Walker (19* and 25 retired), with George Leach and Lewis Barlow chipping in useful runs along the way too. Callum Barlow took his first hat trick in the last group game, and the rest of the wickets have been shared around equally amongst the bowlers. Fielding has been excellent with the positive energy and enthusiasm amongst the lads being the highlight of the games that they've played so far. The cup draw will be made soon with the semi final scheduled for Wednesday.
