The club are pleased to confirm that pre-season training will begin on Saturday 23rd June at 1pm at Church Lane and will be every Tuesday and Thursday at 7pm in the build up to the 2018-19 season.

ALL players are invited to attend and any wishing to contact First Team Manager Richard Hannigan, in advance, are welcome to through the main website or the club's Twitter page.

He had the following comments in the build up to the new season:

"I am very much looking forward to the season ahead and I expect there to be many changes at the club as we continue to try and progress. This time last year I took over as first team manager and set up to stabilise the club following a mass exodus of players with the previous manager and to help the club secure funding for a new pitch. I am pleased to say that we managed to do that and although our final league position didn't reflect my overall ambitions for the season, we showed in patches that we can compete with any side.

This season my ambitions are much higher, I wouldn't like to reveal a target in terms of league position but it is an extremely ambitious one and after two years of being in the Central Midlands League, I believe I know what is required to compete. I am hoping to bring in players that are the right fit for what I want to achieve.

I am delighted that all of last season's squad are committed to another season and they are aware that they must up their standards to match the club's expectations moving forward. I have a whole number of targets that I am pursuing and I am hoping after the first week of pre-season we will have a settled group of players that we can work with. I want to bring an attractive style of football to the Linby faithful, of which rewarded us with crowds of well over 150 on several occasions last season.

This year will mark the club's move to the new pitch. The company Fineturf have guaranteed us an immaculate playing surface once it is finished which will allow us to play the standard of football we expect."

This does mean that all pre-season fixtures will be away from home over the course of pre-season and the club can confirm the following have been arranged so far:

Sat 21st July vs Mansfield Hosiery Mills (away) 3pm
Sat 28th July vs Ashland Rovers (away) 3pm

The first team is looking for two more away friendlies, preferably midweek (5th or 12th July). Please get in touch if you can accommodate us.
