The U17 Lincolnshire girls had to play Bedfordshire with only a 10 minute break after their game against Hertfordshire.
It was a very warm day and with only a 12 man squad it meant the girls had to work very hard. The best hockey of the day was seen in the second half of this game with the girls playing as a team and stopping Bedfordshire from converting any opportunities.
The defenders Rachel Perkins, Emma Dalton, Lachan Read and Harriet Hanwell and GK Becky Warr worked very hard keeping a clean sheet on the day. They had a lot of action in the D but they managed to keep the ball out, at times very nervous for the spectators.
The midfield worked very hard and covered an enormous amount of pitch both attacking and defending. Naomi Smith made a very impressive run into the D and fired in a goal to take the lead. The attackers, Jazz Roberts and Kate Ireland scored the next two to take Lincs out of Beds reach. Amber Wild, Abbie Christen and Phelicia Moore were very strong in the mid and with Annie Dalton tracking forward and back constantly throughout the game.
An excellent start to the county games.
