Lincoln started brightly, but after skipper John Wiles opened the scoring, they lost their way a little, and it was no surprise when the hosts equalised after poor overall Lincoln team defending of a "route one" attack.
But United gradually showed the better quality and got on top and should really have gone into the break ahead had good openings been taken.
However, the second period saw Lincoln control the game, and keeper Nathan Burrows
had little to contend with. Some neat football eventually resulted in a well worked move see Josh Searle
break clear before being tripped in the area as about to shoot.
Max Batty stepped up to dispatch a well taken penalty. United were now into their stride and Harry Ginniff was causing the hosts many problems with some dangerous attacking runs.
From one of these he was fouled on the edge of the penalty area, and once more Max Batty stepped up to curl the resulting free kick into the top corner of the net with a fine shot, and secure the points.
