Sam's thoughts after victory over Loughborough

Sam said: “Everything about Saturday's game was so much different to the week before.

“There was pride, passion, desire and work rate.

“The lads showed that wearing the Lincoln United shirts meant something to them.

“It helped that we scored so early on with both strikers linking well.

“It worked again after twenty-five minutes with strikers involved and Matt Cotton producing some real quality with his finish.

“Our shape was a lot better and we defended from the front.

“Every player put in a shift which hadn't been there in recent weeks.

“We still weren't at our free flowing best but after the hammering we took last week that was always going to prove to be difficult.

“Saturday was all about working hard, keeping our shape, but also being brave on the ball.

“The players put in a great performance and it was such a relief after a tough week.

“We now need to use that performance as a springboard to try and get some consistency.”
