UNITED WIN FIRST FRIENDLY

United began their pre-season games with a victory at RAF Waddington. 6-0 was the scoreline and it proved a useful opener.

With a few missing Terry Fleming used the opportunity to look at one or two fresh faces.

There were good performances all over the pitch and neither goalkeeper was troubled unduly.

The lively, Josh Raby opened the scoring followed by Ben Garrick and Joe Butler in the first half.

In the second period Craig Leverett helped mimself to two and should have completed the hat-trick but lost his footing at the vital moment.

Chris Funnell straight off the plane from Valencia completed the scoring.

It would not be right to judge United's performance in this game and we will know a little more after Thursday's trip to Louth Town.
