WHITES JUST FAIL TO KEEP OUT VIKINGS

Do you remeber that film, The Alamo in which John Wayne and his 200 troops tried to keep out the whole Mexican army?

Well the first 25 minutes resembled that story only yesterday it was Andy Toyneand his men who were repelling the relentless Goole attacks.

The Vikings went close on nine occasions in a 25 minute spell which put the Whites defence under extreme pressure.

The opponents' 3-5-2 formation was overwhelming the 4-3-3 of the home side and the Gaffer soon recognised the problem.

He took immediate action by sacrificing Scott Ruthven and putting on Kallum Smith.

It worked.

Danny Brooks, Sean Cann, Glynn Cotton and Sean Wright all had chances to snatch the lead.

The Goole tide was stemmed resulting in a 0-0 scoreline at half time

But midway through the second half Goole took the lead when Tyler Wlliams headed home from eight yards.

Jacklin came close in reply and chances for the Whites were created in the last 10 minutes after shots were saved, blocked and missed.

Therein lies the problem.

After four games only six goals have been conceded. However only three have been scored and that is a worry.
