United had started brightly employing a 4-4-2 formation and went behind to a penalty in the 12th minute from Andy Hall.
The Whites' response was good and we unsettled the much fancied Stamford outfit for a time.
it seemed we had kept our nerve and despite losing Reddo had got to half-time just one down. A free kick awarded 3 minutes into added time in the first half was allowed to be taken whilst the Referee was talking to our skipper and our player-manager, this led to Stamford skipper, Richard Jones doubling the Daniels' lead.
United came ot fighting after the interval and a great strike from Joe Butler made it 2-1 in the 49th minute.
Ben Garrick might have equalised forcing Elliott Shilliam into his second great save of the night.
However, on the hour a third set-piece (a second penalty) saw Andy Hall convert again.
United threw on Josh Raby and he looked very lively but United always looked like they might concede at any minute and so it proved as they chased a goal themselves Jordan Smith made it four.
Andy Hall completed his hat-trick in the 82nd minute to round off another miserable night for United.
The game gives the club's management much to think about as the games come thick and fast and it is clear that action needs to be taken and and I am sure it will be as Terry Fleming looks to stem the tide.
