GAME OF TWO HALVES
After a really bright start to the game United faded badly after half-time and lost their way to slip to a home defeat.
After pressuring Leek from the first whistle United took the lead in the third minute when Kallum Smith challenged in the air and the half cleared ball fell to Craig Leverett who drilled home from 15 yards.
Smith was then clearly brought down in the box but nothing was given and United were building pressure through a series of corners but couldn't force a second goal.
It was more a case of close shaves than missed chances but we paid a heavy price in the 27th minute. Alex Troughton appeared to be fouled but Lekk cleared and in a split second Tim Grice had drawn Michel Cooke out of United's goal and slid the ball into the empty net to equalise.
Sadly United never really recovered from this and Grice added a second when left unmarked on the edge of the box in the 72nd minute.
United couldn't keep the ball up top and offered little in a response late on.
Missing leading scorer Tom Garrick was a blow but we have to address the way we faded once we had a set-back. If only we could have found a few more with skipper Brendan McDaid's approach.
