STRONG PERFORMANCE - NO REWARD
After a shaky opening spell Lincoln United settled down and got stronger as the game wore on and really should have got some points on the board.
Despite a lively opening Tom Garrick might have given the Whites an early lead when he was sharply on to a loose ball and lobbed the visiting keeper only to see Craig Armstrong miraculously clear off the line.
United began to settle and by half time were giving as good as they got but chances were few and far between.
After the interval we began to threaten the goal. Sam Wilkinson saw a left curler tipped round a post before Garrick broke clear and rushed his shot and fired straight at the keeper.Jack McGovern our man of the match should have scored at the far post.
Kallum Smith was introduced for Alex Troughton who had struggled to get into the game. Jack McGovern, Liam Bull and George Zuerner had a grip in midfield which led to further chances. Wilkinso had a header tipped over the bar and Garrick broke clear but again missed out.
The side looked better balanced with Smith on but disiaster struck in the 82nd minute when a generous penalty award went Hucknall's way.
It was ceratinly much better than the last two home games but we still came away with nothing.
