SUPER SHOW FROM YOUNG WHITES
After three consecutive draws United produced a lively display to overcome mid-table Romulus. That, despite the sending-off of Stuart Reddington.
After a lively start Romulus faded somewhat as United started to pressurise them. Two goals in two minutes put the Whites firmly in control. Good work from Chris Funnell led to a corner which Jack McGovern whipped in for Ryan Porter to power home a header in the 20th minute. Two minutes later McGovern got on the end of a Funnell flick to make it two.
Romulus had a good chance before half-time but little after the break.
Manager, Terry Fleming rang the changes after the break. Sean Wright came on for Fleming at right-back, Jordan Hempenstall replaced injured Chris Funnell and Luke Boyce replaced Brendan McDaid.
Boyce should have increased the lead towards the end after great interplay. He broke clear and shot straight at the keeper.
The referee sent Stuart Reddington off for a second bookable offence for swearing. Stuart did swear but not at the referee but the ref had been inconsistent for most of the afternoon and seemed to target Reddo for some strange decisions.
