Lismore player, Ellie Wilson has been selected to represent Scotland U19 girls 7's in this year's Sainsbury's Youth Games.

For the third year in a row, Lismore RFC have a young player selected for the Womens/Girls Performance programme. In the 2012/2013 season, both Fiona Wylie and Stephanie Campbell were selected for the National Under 20 programme. Last season Ailsa Luke also entered the Under 20 programme. This is a massive credit to all who have kept the Women’s side running, not least Woman’s lead coach Lindsey Booth.
The 2014/2015 season see’s Ellie Wilson being selected for the Scotland Under 19 Girls 7’s squad who will compete at the Sainsbury’s Youth Games at the start of September. Ellie first started playing rugby at Liberton High School when our development staff introduced rugby onto the curriculum. As there was no Girls side at that time, Ellie concentrated on playing handball where she also gained National Honours. In her last year at school she started training with the Women’s side and then, when eligible, made her debut with them. Ellie has also attended our East Edinburgh Girls Hub based at Inch Park through the Summer which has helped her development.
When we asked Ellie about her selection she told us "there's a really supportive atmosphere at Lismore and a lot of player feedback which has really helped me" she also said she feels the chance to play within her age group at the Girls Hub sessions helped her national selection.

All of us at Lismore wish her the best of luck for the tournament.

Girls Hub training times- Monday evenings (1700-1900) For more details contact Eric Jones 07585064993 eric@inchpark.org
