Littleborough's next generation of rugby players have been celebrating a wonderful season.

That has seen Littleborough become one of the largest junior section's in the North West.

From the Under 7's to Under 12's and all the way to the older junior section stopping at U16's, the club has seen huge growth in each age group and the hope is that we can get a couple of teams for each section.

In the minis section, they have enjoyed trips to Rochdale Hornets and Sale Sharks to play in pre game touch rugby matches as well as entertaining the U20's world championship trophy at Rakewood just 2 weeks ago.

On the pitch, a number of the minis teams have enjoyed unbridled success against clubs with much bigger infrastructure such as the U10's taking the Huddersfield RUFC 2015/16 tournament by storm or the U12's just last week enjoying an unbeaten season and finishing 2nd in the local Rochdale tournament.

So with no further ado, here is the breakdown of the main award winners from the Minis section:

Under 7’s
Players Player – Charlie Cryer
Parents Player – Archie Brentall
Most Improved – Mason Hoyle
Clubman – Josh Dews

Under 8’s
Players Player – Lexi Hartley
Parents Player – Timon Warburton
Most Improved – Harrison Dickinson
Clubman – Ellis Johnson

Ellis also won the award for the Mini's overall clubman of the year. This awards the continued work of Ellis this year to grow and develop the club off the field of play in any way he could.

Under 9’s
Players Player – Tom Deacon
Coaches Player – Joseph Mills
Most Improved – Alex Sunderland
Clubman – Woody Mayberry

Alex also celebrated the achievement of being crowned the Mini's overall most improved player of the year. The difference a year has made in Alex has seen him rapidly become a pivotal member of his team and if he can continue the rapid progression he has already shown, this young boy can make a name for himself.

Under 10’s
Players Player – Billy Blake
Coaches Player – Sam Deacon
Most Improved – Brody Baxter
Clubman – Harry York

Under 11’s
Players Player – Oliver Vining
Coaches Player – Jacob Mitchell

Clubman – Will Rawlinson

Under 12’s

Coaches Player – Ben Russon

Clubman – Mikey Mills

There was one special award to finish the presentation ceremony and one that shows a major appreciation of both the mini's and juniors and all those who are involved with the numerous teams.

It is called the Stan Collier Outstanding Achievement Award and this year it was given a lady who has overseen all the teams alongside a full time job and worked closely with Lancashire rugby to ensure rugby is a major part in the sporting future of the Littleborough and the surrounding areas. Specially presented by an ex winner Richard Wilson, the winner was Kate Bennetta.
