Striker George Gaskin takes over as manager of Littlehampton Town with immediate effect

5 May 2015

Littlehampton Town Football Club are pleased to announce George Gaskin will be the team's new manager with immediate effect.
A meeting of the club's committee at The Sportsfield this evening unanimously agreed to appoint Gaskin, 24, to the position of manager of the Sussex County Football League championship-winning club.
George Gaskin first played for Littlehampton Town when he was 16 years old, back in 2007, and for the past few seasons has been a key striker for the team. In this past title-winning season he netted 14 goals in the Division One league. The previous year he scored 32 for his local club.
Gaskin said: "I'm absolutely delighted to accept the position of manager of Littlehampton Town Football Club. It means a lot to me and I'm thrilled the committee and chairman have the faith in my abilities."
Chairman Rob McAlees added: "He will bring continuity to the football club to continue our ethic of getting the best players and to continue our success. We have tremendous faith in him and look forward to getting our title-defending campaign started next season."
Littlehampton Town would like to thank Mark Bennett and his assistant Richie Hellen for their hard work and loyal support for the past four years. Both members of the management team resigned their positions from the club last week.
Further news, including pre-season friendlies will be posted on the website in due course.
