U18s brought back to earth with a bang
Livingston loose out due to some poor decision making
Livingston went to Murrayfield with a smaller squad than normal. After a good game against Murrayfield in the cup. Livi were looking to play a development team building towards next season. Livi stated strong with some good play through the backs with Kermit making a good break, creating a good overlap but instead of passing to Sean for an easy try he decided to cut back inside resulting in turnover ball. Opportunity missed. They still pressed for the first try and it eventually came with some quick passing through the back resulting in Ross T breezing past his winger to score in the corner. 0-5. Murrayfield pressed for a score after some weak tackling but a last ditch tackle from Glen seemed to stop the player but he stretched out and seemed to ground the ball but the referee said he was held up. [let off for Livi]. They did not learn their lesson and Murrayfield did eventually score conversion was successful. 7-5. Kermit had another strong run and this time he passed to Sean on the wing to score. 7-10 half time. Livi made changes at half time with Ross B moving to stand off. Livi secured good ball from the kick off resulting in Ross B receiving the ball on the ten meter line. He broke a couple of tackles and managed to score in between the posts. Ross T successful with the conversion. 7-17 . livi seemed to switch off after the score and allowed Murrayfield back into the game. Livi had a lineout on their five meter line they won their ball but instead of securing and driving up the pitch they panicked and threw the ball of the top they tried to run out from their own try-line but a mistake allowed Murrayfield in for a score. Conversion was successful 14-17. Livi started to play as individuals and this allowed Murrayfield in for another score 19-17. Livi did press Murrayfields try-line with Sam stopped short and as he stretched out to ground the ball he knocked it on [ I think we have been here before]. Livi’s seemed to be making a lot of wrong decisions resulting in either getting isolated or knocking the ball on. With 15 mins to go the scrums had to go uncontested which benefited Murrayfield . They seemed to want the win more than Livi resulting in Livi losing a uncontested scrum with Calum not able to control the ball Murrayfield reacted quickest resulting in another score. 24-17. LIvi seemed to fold giving up the ghost allowing Murrayfield in for another two try’s. final score 34-17. Man of the match Ross Barclay.
