With Every Academy Side In Attendance It Was Always Going To Be Challenging For Our Sides At This Years Futsal Championships.

Held at Deeside and superbly administered by Jay Catton and his Connahs Quay team, the taking part in the Academy Futsal Championships is now compulsory for all 12s, 14s and 16s academy sides throughout North and Mid Wales.

Our 16s who won the trophy when playing at under 14s two years ago, were in excellent form over the two weekends in winning seven of their nine games played, and have a great chance of finishing in the top four and reaching the semi finals being played at the end of January.

Our 14s also won the Under 12s event two years ago and despite missing both Joseph Carey and Sam Thomas have still won five out of their eight games played.
Whilst not quite reaching the incredibly high standards which they set last time around, the boys have five games left in the third round of matches being held in early January, to make a concerted effort to make the semis.

Pride of place after the two December rounds were our 12s who have won all seven matches played, and sit top of the league. Helped by some great 'keeping from Sion Farniss the boys have played so well. passing and moving at pace and thoroughly deserve their position at the top.

Good luck to all three of our sides as they attempt to progress as far as possible, in a tournament that's fast becoming a major event in the academy calendar.
