Away point but could have been more!

Llandyrnog made their longest trip of the season as they traveled to Barmouth Saturday. On the back of two positive performances under new manager Hulse, with a narrow defeat to top of the league Llandudno Junction and an unlucky draw with 10 men at home to Penrhydaedraeth, United were out for all 3 points today!

Neither side had many chances in the first half but United were forced to make a change after only 20 minutes when captain Ryan Harden pulled up with a hamstring injury and was replaced by Matt Pendelton. Barmouth's key man Paul Lewis had one of the only shots in the first half but was comfortably saved by United number one Goldston.
The deadlock was broken on the hour mark when Barmouth's Ieuan Brooks let fly a strike from 22 yards leaving Goldston with no chance.
Danny Roberts looked destined to level the two sides but his strike with his unfavoured right foot went wide. Then with 15 minutes of play left Dan Cox had a great chance equalise but his headed effort went just wide of the post. United kept up the pressure and were rewarded with just 5 minutes of play left as Will Ashley headed Dyrny level to record his first goal for the club.
The Villagers weren't done yet and Luke Appleby looked to have secured all 3 points with a brilliant strike into the bottom corner but was fantastically saved by the Home keeper in the last kick of the game.

A good away point nonetheless and undefeated in two games before we travel to St Asaph Tuesday night!
