United crash out of League Cup.

United knew this was going to be a tough fixture as they travelled to top of the league Glantraeth in the Lock Stock Cookson Cup but missing 5 key players made it all the more difficult but credit to the young lads that stepped in.
It took just 51 seconds for Glantraeth to take the lead as Shaun Lock was on hand to finish after Mark Bridge had cut in and crossed from the right.
On twenty minutes Dyrny were close to pulling level as home keeper Ben Heald did well to keep out a close range effort from captain Dan Jones.
The villagers were giving a good account of themselves at this stage but went further behind on the half-hour mark as Glan scored again through the same combo as before, Shaun Lock side footing home a Bridge cross.
It got worse for the United five minutes later as Lock completed his hat-trick with a powerful drive that gave Goldston no chance. Bridge struck the bar three minutes before the break but it was only a brief respite for Dyrnog as Matty Lock got a fourth a minute later.

Kieran Jeffreys got his name on the scoresheet two minutes into the second half with a perfect strike to make it 5-0 and four minutes later got his second as he rifled home a shot.
Shaun Lock couldn't stop scoring and added two more in the 65th and 69th minutes
United got a goal back on 74 minutes through a low shot from 25 yards from Sam Roberts but within a minute Glan replied through a second from Matty Lock.
United held out for the final fifteen minutes to avoid the indignity of a double figure defeat but it will be one to forget for the villagers but can get back to focus on league action Saturday as they host St Asaph.
