Two big wins for the villagers!

Gwalchmai 3 Llandyrnog 5

It's been a funny old season for Llandyrnog United, after having secured promotion last year they found themselves without 7 of last years promotion winning side as they faced the top teams in the Welsh Alliance, those who left, either for pastures new or lost through injury and retirement yet nevertheless they have battled on week in week out and now with the new management partnership of Hughes and Lloyd at the helm, it looks like they have turned another corner.
This weekend saw them make a second trip to Anglesey in a week as they faced Gwalchmai in a windy Saturday encounter.
The team travelled in good spirits following a positive performance at Bodedern a week earlier where they drew 0-0, however, within several minutes of the start the villagers found themselves 1-0 down by the impressive Marc Evans, undeterred by the poor start Llandyrnog continued to press and worked tirelessly, for which they were rewarded, Billy Holmes' corner was rifled in by Chris House and moments later Liam Jones saw his headed effort beat the keeper leaving Dyrny 2-1 up at halftime.
Again, within the restart came a quick equalising goal as Cory Sinnot popped up which was shortly followed by a 3rd for Gwalchmai when Dyrny gave away a penalty only for Marc Evans to put the home side ahead for the first time.
In past games this would of been the final nail in Dyrny's coffin but the new rejuvenated Dyrny dogs of war fought back and although Gwalchmai seemed content to play the long ball in search of their strikers, Llandyrnog continued to press and pass the ball searching for an equaliser which eventually came as Liam Jones' delivered an unstoppable strike from the penalty spot.
The equaliser seemed to spur Llandyrnog on and they finished with a flurry of goals which saw the ever impressive Sion Davies cooly chip the advancing keeper only for Tom Jones (TJ) to deliver an almost identical goal leaving the home side wondering what had just happened.
A victory which had been a long time coming for Llandyrnog, who's effort, work rate and belief deserved.
It was a great team performance by all and great to see the side getting used to their new style of play but specific mentions should go to Liam Jones for his two goals and two assist along with stand-out performers Sion Davis, Tom Cummings and promising young keeper Daniel Jones.
This weekend Llandyrnog will face Llanfairpwll at Cae Nant KO 2.30.

Llandyrnog Res 2 Glan Conwy 1

In what was a scrappy game at Cae Nant it was the visitors who almost broke the dead lock when they were awarded a penalty within the first 5 minutes, luckily for the villagers it was blasted well over the bar, leaving Jimmy Mcnally's men to count their lucky stars.
Dyrny fought back tooth and nail and created a number of chances but failed to put them away, this led to Glan Conwy drawing first blood when they scored in a quick counter attack on 14 minutes.
Dyrny continued to press and pushed from then on in, grabbing an equaliser when John Jones' bullet header left the keeper with no chance from an Ian Williams corner.
The second half Dyrny continued to dominate as the travelling side began to tire, Dyrny used this to their advantage but it took a masterful strike from dead ball specialist Dai Davies who made his welcome return back to Llandyrnog to score a freekick from 25 yards.
Substitute Tom Davies almost made the headlines but was denied with a great save after he went through on goal in the last minute. Man of the match went to the ever dangerous Paul Williams.
