Late goals spell heartache for United.

Two goals in the final 9 minutes left Llandyrnog United heartbroken at The Flyover on Saturday.
With United number one Dan Jones out injured and Reserve stopper Stu Griff unavailable, in stepped left back Chris House between the sticks. While outfield players Danny Robs, Billy Holmes, Russ Moorecroft, Danny Porter, Liam Jones and Adam Lloyd were all unavailable due to injuries, suspensions and work commitments manager Aled Davies always knew this fixture vs 2nd placed Junction was going to be tough, but we do like a challenge.

This was the time for players to take their chances when selected and step up and prove to themselves and the new management just what they could do.
Iwan Davies made a welcome return to the club from St Asaph and joined the back four at left back, along with Aled Roberts, Les Brophy who was nursing an ankle injury and Rob Render who was battling through a sickness bug to complete the line up.

As predicted Junction started brightly with new signing Dean Seager's effort going just wide. Dyrny did well to absorb the early pressure and look to break on the counter attack and had a great chance to go ahead when captain Dan Jones found himself through on goal but his long ranged effort didn't trouble the keeper.

The deadlock was broken on 40 minutes when a brilliantly struck half vollley from 25 yards out found the top corner, a goal which no keeper could of stopped. It was a blow for United and a terrible time to concede as they had worked non stop all half.
Moments later a Sion Davies corner found Les Brophy at the far post who headed the ball back across goal and Aled Roberts was there to flick it in right on the stroke of halftime.
A good goal and just what Dyrny had deserved.

A big 45 to go for the villagers and the home side made it clear from the off it wasn't going to be easy, going close a number of times but denied by some great saves from usual left back House.
Paul Williams was working tirelessly upfront as the lone striker and giving the Juction defense a torrid time and with Craig Jones and Gareth "Googs" on the wings were out to prove a point to Manager Davies while Louis Bollard and Sion Davies continued to put themselves about all game and won some big tackles in central midfield trying to break down any Junction threat.
Craig Jones eventually gave way to Scott Lyons who made his first team debut for United and got stuck in straight away.

With only 9 minutes remaining on the clock Junction's number 10 Bryan scored a great team goal bursting out of no where after some good football and firing a low shot to the bottom corner leaving the keeper with no chance. A cruel blow for United who had battled so hard all game. Dean Seager added the final nail in United's coffin only two minutes later to make it 3-1.

A harsh looking scoreline but what a superb performance with each player giving it their all. Credit to the lads, great determination and work ethic but it just wasn't to be.
