10 man United forced to settle for draw.

Llandyrnog were left frustrated as a late equaliser denied them all three points against high flying Penrhyndeudraeth.
The visitors started the game in second place after an impressive run of performances in the last few months. Injuries meant Dyrny started the game without a recognised centre half and things got worse when young midfielder Sam Lewis who was filling in in the centre of defence suffered a nasty looking injury and was forced off early on.

Penrhyn started the game the better of the two sides with experienced striker Neil Thomas causing the home side plenty of problems. It was the Ryan Harden's side however who broke the deadlock when the prolific Mark Roberts burst past his man and finished expertly high into the corner of the net. It could have been two shortly after when Dan Lloyd's long range effort came back of the frame of the goal.

The second period started in similar fashion to the first as the away side looked for a way back into the game and started to apply pressure to the home defence. Llandyrnog weathered the early storm and had a huge chance to seal the game when Roberts was sent through on goal by Dan Porter only to see his effort cannon back off the post.
Dyrny appeared to be heading for a well earned three points when the game took a late twist.
Firstly Lloyd was dismissed for the for a second yellow card and and Penrhyn took immediate advantage with an equaliser through Caerwyn Price. Penrhyn smelt blood and threw bodies forward in search of a late winner but it was Roberts who had a glorious chance to win the game as a quick breakaway left him one on one with the keeper who pulled off a fantastic save to ensure the game finished one apiece. Roberts and Porter were excellent for the hosts but it was Billy Holmes who was named man of the match after a faultless display at the back.

Manager Ryan Harden said 'On the balance of play a draw was a fair result but it's pretty hard to take conceding so late and missing the chances we did in the second half. The lads were very disappointed in the changing room after but we will have to pick ourselves up quickly with a huge semi-final next week'.
