United fight back to take all the points!

Llandyrnog United got back to winning ways with a great home win against promotion hopefuls Glantraeth on Saturday and before kick off United paid their respects to club stalwart Peter Wilson who sadly passed away with a minutes applause.
Danny Roberts made a welcome return after 3 months out injured, while Dan Porter also found his name on the team sheet.

Glantraeth made it clear from the start that today was going to be a tough game as they played high up the field and made Dyrny defend deep in their own half.
United did well to absorb any threat but on the half hour mark the Glantraeth pressure paid off when a misplaced kick from under pressure United resulted in Seann Davies putting the visitors ahead.
United didn't have any time to lick their wounds as moments later Sion Davies was brought down by the Glantraeth keeper and awarded a penalty and Captain Danny Jones stepped up and drew the game even from the spot. (This goal can be seen on Llandyrnog Facebook page)
The sides went in level pegging at the break.

The second half performance was one of the best we have seen from United in recent months.
Inform Craig Jones (sponsored by The Kinmel Arms Llandyrnog) who has had something of a resurgence of late, now finds himself playing upfront and made it 2 goals in 2 games as he neatly finished a rebounded save to put the home side ahead.

United now had the wind in their sails and were finally playing with the confidence they have been missing for much of the season.
Sion Davies, Les Brophy, Russ Moorecroft and Daniel Jones all giving man of the match performances while Danny Roberts on the wing was a welcome sight, letting the United faithful know just what they had been missing for the last few months.
Within 5 minutes of going ahead, United were awarded a corner and Ian Williams' excellent delivery was flicked on and found the head of Danny Roberts to head in at the back post on his long awaited return. (This goal too can be see on the Llandyrnog Facebook page)

Llandyrnog were now in full control and as the Glantraeth's heads began to drop, United went from strength to strength.
Dan Porter replaced Ian Williams and seemed to settle in well which was another big lift for the side having been out injured for 10 weeks with an ankle injury, while Luke Farely made his 1st team debut after impressing for the Reserves.
It was a big result for United and one they deserved but they must now keep this confidence going as they look to finish the season on a high.

Man of the match went to Captain Danny "DJ" Jones sponsored by Life on Wheels of Holywell.
