United hit winning ways in Welsh Cup

Llandyrnog United got their first win of the season with a comfortable 2-4 away win at Aston Park in the 1st Qualifying Round of the Welsh Cup.
New signing Sam Roberts took place at centre half freeing up Dan Jones to return to centre midfield alongside returning Sion Davies who served his suspension. While Chris Hardy impressed at right back.
Louis Bollard broke the deadlock after only 3 minutes with a great long ranged effort and United should of added a few more in the early stages with Craig Jones and Josh Taylor both going close.
Josh Taylor was brought down in the box and up stepped club captain Dan Jones to extented United's lead on 20 minutes.
Dyrny really should of put the game to bed in the first half as they had several chances but it was great to see them creating so many as they have struggled to in recent weeks.

With a 0-2 lead the 2nd half was underway and Aston Park were looking for a way back in, relying on the long ball in search for their big centre forward target man but it was United's star man Louis Bollard who got Dyrny's 3rd and his 2nd of the day with a great finish after a great ball in from Josh Taylor and as Louis sold the dummy to the defender and pulled it back giving himself time and space to neatly finish past the home keeper.

Moments later Aston Park got one back with a momentarily lapse in concentration and Scott Nelson gave Aston a lifeline and Aston Park had a 10 minute spell of pressure and were rewarded with a second goal when the home keeper had an assist with a long ball and Dan Brown neatly finishing after the Dyrny back line misjudging the bounce.
This could of lead to a nervous final 25 minutes with only one goal separating the sides but United carried on with Craig Jones impressing up front creating plenty of chances for Aidan Bell and Josh Taylor with Taylor going close a few times and rattling the post with a great free kick.
Jones was eventually rewarded for his work rate with a well worked goal which saw Luke Farley unselfishly set up Craig to finish and give United the 2-4 lead.

There could of been plenty more goals in this game for United but it was great to see so many chances being created and players coming back and the side starting to look their usual self.
