“Captain of 2005 tour to New Zealand”
3 matches unbeaten
Dai Ed was a regular player for the Warriors over 7 seasons, making over 50 appearances and rarely missing a game.
His ability and attitude is illustrated by the fact he won Most Improved, Sportsman and Player of the Year in that time.
Most notably he captained the Warriors 3 match unbeaten tour of New Zealand in 2005, scoring a try in the opening match at Caterton. Usually known as Dai Ed he gained the nickname Dai Posh on this tour for some 'La-di-da' behaviour and a residual hint of English in his accent.
A dynamic prop who was technically sound he was also a valued member off the field enjoying the social aspect of the club. As well as New Zealand he also toured to Scotland and especially enjoyed the trips to Cefneithin where he would contribute to the singing.
Dai continued to follow the fortunes of the club and will be especially missed by players who were also colleagues on Coleshill centre's Ground Force team.
Our thoughts are with his family and friends.
