Dai Ed Funeral details-Disco TONIGHT-Swansea Gladiators Sunday (home)-Spreading the Word-Curry Night Coming

“Dai Ed Funeral: Tuesday 23rd Jan” Swansea Gladiators home: Sunday 14th Jan

All of a sudden we need to do a news round up with (again) several things happening in the club:

Firstly details of the funeral of former player David Edwards have been announced:
Tuesday 23rd Jan,
10:00am at the graveside in Salem, Ferryside,
11:00am service at Arthur Cambrey
followed by a wake in the Selwyn Samuel Centre, Llanelli

A small tribute to Dai have previously been published here with photos here
Tributes and sympathy have come from opponents like Cefneithin and Betws (who recalled a great try Dai had scored up there one evening) former team mates and others who know the club such as Rupert Moon and Phil Davies. Again our thoughts are with his family.
The Warriors will be holding a minutes silence before their match with the Gladiators on Sunday.

This Wednesday (TONIGHT!!!) we have the 1st Disco of the year: 6pm in Felinfoel, £3 entry (carers free). The Christmas Disco was a great success and DJ (Simon) Daze has been buying new equipment and music in readiness for this one. Hope to see you there.

On Sunday the Warriors will play their oldest opponents – the Swansea Gladiators. The fixture dates back to 1995 and is the oldest mixed ability fixture in the world.
Kick off is 2:30pm in Burry Port RFC.
Teas/coffees will be available during the game.
Afterwards from 6pm Burry Port are having an American Football night with the NFL Playoffs on - hotdogs for tea!

Later in the month we will be holding a Curry Evening – same price, same food – come along for a night that has become increasingly popular due to the quality of the food and company. Full details once we have confirmed...

On Friday (12th) Gwilym will be speaking about the Warriors at the Sport Wales event: My Sport Wales at Parc y Scarlets and he has also been invited to sit at the WRU table for the Disability Sport Wales Presentation Evening. This is part of the growing recognition of the club and integrated rugby which is something that the club has worked very hard to achieve.
