A great perfirmance on Sunday but no time to rest on laurels as the Loughor Lifeboat visit this weekend.

A fantastic day was had yesterday at Burry Port RFC: the sun was shinning, a decent crowd gathered, teas, programmes and t shirts were all available...and the Warriors beat their old rivals the Gladiators.
31 players were available for selection (26 actually featuring for the Warriors) with several debutants making for a strong team and boding well for the season.

The match itself is reviewed elsewhere on the site (stats are playing up so be patient, and photos will be added).
Congratulations to Darren Pollitt (pictured) who was named Man Of The Match and to Andrew 'Bambi' Davies who was chosen to lead the team for the season. With 26 players representing the club it is hard to single people out. Hopefully training sessions - which are held in the same time slot - will soon be similarly popular.

A huge thanks to Burry Port who made such an effort to ensure everything ran smoothly - programme, snack shop, Chairman address, a good crowd - all helped to make it a great experience.

Finally thanks to the Gladiators for coming, always a pleasure to see them. We have learnt many times not to gloat too much after a victory and it is good to have the clubs with the same aims supporting each other.

This Sunday will see the Loughor Lifebaot crew visit the Memorial field. Last season the game got cancelled at short notice and so anticipation will be higher than usual. The 1 game we have had together was great fun and hopefully it will be another good day.

Players meet in Burry Port at 1:30pm. Lift share from New Dock Stars RFC please meet 1:00pm
