Llanfair made to work by Churchstoke
Three points on the opening day of the new season but not any easy three points by any means as Churchstoke put up a great fight in a close encounter
Llanfair took an early lead when Andrew Hughes set up Ben Jones for a fantastic 25 yard volley which flew into the net to give Llanfair a good start. Unfortunately though, Ryan Evans was carried of with a knee injury early on (all the best to Ryan with his recovery).
However, as the game went on, Churchstoke grew into the game and were rewarded for their efforts through Tony Meredith, who finished coolly from close range.
In the second half, Llanfair again took an early lead, this time Andrew Hughes scoring himself with a great low finish from the edge of the area.
The rest of the game was end to end and both sides spurned good chances.
An important win on the first day. Berriew at home next on Tuesday, 6.45pm kick off.
