Llanfair return to league action with a win
After beating Knighton 2-1 in last week's Central Wales Cup tie, Llanfair were 2-1 victors again in an almost carbon copy of last week's game.
Llanfair began the game well and created numerous chances which were squandered until Alun Hughes pounced on a goalkeeping error on 22 minutes, to put Llanfair ahead.
Llanfair were 2-0 up when a brilliant team move resulted in Paul Griffiths squaring the ball across the 6 yard box, and a Knighton defender putting the ball into his own net.
In the second half, Llanfair began strongest again but found Knighton's goalkeeper in fine form.
The game changed for Llanfair when Alun Hughes was sent off for a second bookable offence. Minutes later, Knighton pulled a goal back.
The game was then paused for a lengthy time as Dan Kenyon was stretchered off the field with a nasty looking injury, thankfully, after a visit to hospital, nothing was broken.
Llanfair held on to earn all 3 points.
Carno at home next Saturday, 2.30pm.
