Presentation Evening a Great Success
A worthy celebration for a successful season
The presentation evening, held on 4 May, was once again a great success. All five age groups in the mini section were present to hear their coaches recap on the season's events, before all the players were presented with special medals by Scarlets prop Simon Gardiner. We are very grateful to Simon, who also presented the trophies to this season's prize winners, because he stepped in at very short notice to help us. As always he did a grand job and he stuck around long enough to ensure that every child had an autograph and photo.
Another very welcome guest was the Triple Crown trophy, which to everyone's astonishment and disbelief was left in our tender care for the whole evening! It certainly did the rounds with pretty much everyone having their photo taken with it.
The success of this season presents us with a problem for the next one because we now will have a new age group at U12 level. As well as this meaning that we will need more coaches and referees, we will also need more volunteers to help with the following tasks on match days: helping set up the pitches and equipment; cooking and serving the players' meals after the matches; keeping scores; writing match reports for this website; and helping with parking duties. If you think you can help in any way at all, please do not hesitate to speak to one of the coaches or a member of the committee.
The photos show Simon Gardiner with all this season's trophy winners, as well as with some of our wonderful hard working coaches - for more details of each individual prizewinner, visit the individual pages for each age group where you will also find photos of each age group with their trophies and medals.
