Llani Tag continues to serve up its feast rugby. Eleven teams enjoyed playing free flowing competitive rugby, with Caersws providing four of the teams and with one reaching the semi finals for the first time.

Both the Dyffryn Trannon teams made it unbeaten through the group stages to book their places in the semi finals.

In Group A, Llanidloes A came through with just the one loss to Dyffryn Trannon A, while Caersws B also made it through Group Bsuffering one loss to the other Trefeglws team.

In Group B, behind Dyffryn Trannon and Caersws, saw the other teams all take points of each as Llandinam, Llanidloes B and at their first festival Carno A all picked up two wins.

Dyffryn Trannon A overcame Caersws B in the first semi final, scoring from turn over ball being the difference between the teams. Llanidloes A without many of their ‘club’ players overcame a dogged Dyffryn Trannon B in the other.

The experience of the club players made the difference in the final as Tom Evans and Robbie Williams pounced on any lose ball and move it quickly to space to score. Llanidloes kept in the game with some effective tagging from Ryan Able and Chloe Hamer, and tries from Oscar and co.

Llani Tag continue to enjoy the support of Dave Smith (Newtown) Ltd and a big thank you from the club go to Dave and Anne.

The Club would also like to thank the schools for their support and attendance and allowing the club coaches time within the school programme to do coaching sessions.

Finally a thank you to the students of Llanidloes 6th form for reffing the games and most importantly - keeping the tea flowing.
