Mach 7's brings the first silverware of the year
Aberystwyth defeated Dolgellau in the Cup Final while the Plate was won by Llanidloes who defeated Harlech in the final
The semi-finals of the Machynlleth 7's paired Aberystwyth against hosts, Machynlleth and Crymych against Dolgellau.
However, after a thunderstorm which went on for almost an hour and with both pitches looking like lakes, the organisers left it up to the semi-finalists in both competitions and the referees to decide whether the games should go ahead.
Crymych decided that they would not play so the semi was awarded to Dolgellau. Aberystwyth defeated Machynlleth to set up an Aberystwyth v Dolgellau final which Aberystwyth won by three tries to one.
In the Plate semi-finals it was Welshpool 17 v Llanidloes 22 and Harlech 15 v Pwllheli 5, leaving a Llanidloes v Harlech final which Llanidloes won by three tries to one.
Full credit to the finalists for agreeing to continue in what turned out to be more like a regatta than a rugby final.
