Captain's Log - July 2012
July 2012
Training:
Tuesday – 3/7/12 Thursday – 5/7/12
Tuesday – 10/7/12 Thursday – 12/7/12
Tuesday – 17/7/12 Thursday – 19/7/12
Tuesday – 24/7/12 Thursday – 26/7/12
Tuesday – 31/7/12
July has been 9 hard training sessions. Attendance has been good, especially on the Tuesday evening. Coaches have ensured a good variety of activities, which has kept enthusiasm and motivation within players. The fitness at the beginning of the sessions has allowed the players to measure their improvement. Players have enjoyed the introduction of the tyres into training; large or small the coaches have made us work. One of the highlights for myself was the first session, where Woody had us doing the army crawl across the whole pitch and we must have done about 200 press ups, sit ups, squat thrusts, this was a good beasting! I’m sure Morty will remember the session on Thursday 26th July, where Woody and Simmo’s drill pushed us to the limit. Players have been giving 100% effort, which is a great headache for the coaches come selection time. The competiveness shown by players has been amazing and has produced quality in the training activities. Through the hard work, unfortunately we have had mild injuries, but we are hopeful that everyone will be fully fit come the first game in September.
Saturday – 7/7/12 – (Paintballing) – Everyone had a good time. Fish was the expert in blowing up his own team. Thanks to the club for providing us with a BBQ afterwards and for the coaches for getting me drunk. Thanks to Alun Callow for the arrangements.
Saturday 28/7/12 – (Painting) – Thanks to all the boys that turned up to Usk Road to help with the painting and decorating. It’s made the place look much better. Again thanks to the club for putting on a BBQ afterwards.
Keep up the hard work boys!
Thanks
Denis
