This was another new ground for me (17th in total since the start of last season) , the 4th new ground of the season.
I had heard about the home team some years ago as an ex work colleague of mine (Hamish Clifton) used to play for them.
Really enjoyed my visit, lovely little ground set in beautiful surroundings. The game itself was fantastic and was probably the best I have seen so far this season.

The early minutes of the game were controlled by Llanrhaeadr, they looked very confident on the ball and were most of the forward play.

The first chance fell to them on 12 minutes, their No.9 had a free header inside the box but his effort went wide.
16th Minute – The No.9 opened the scoring for Llanrhaeadr, making no mistake with another header, he was found by a fantastic cross by the right full back.
18th Minute – some more good play by the home team saw another chance fall to their No.9 but his attempt went over the bar whilst under pressure from the Town defence.
28th Minute – yet another chance to the home side, No.10 found himself clean through on goal but missed the target.
29th Minute – Another chance for the Llanrhaeadr No.10, the away keeper was slow off his line to narrow the angle but still made the save.
31st Minute – No.9 for LLanrhaeadr saw another headed effort go wide this time following a long throw into the box.
A minute later, a poor pass from the Town keeper was not capitalised on by the home side.
It took until the 37th minute for the away team to produce any kind of effort on goal. A long ball over the top of the defence found the Town No.7, he could only place is header wide.
40th Minute – The best move of the match, great individual skill by Llanrhaeadr’s No.9 and nice pass found the No.10 in plenty of space on the right flank, he drove into the box and laid the ball off to the No.8 who shot over.
The home side went into the break 1-0 up and thoroughly deserved the lead:
First Half Action:

Second Half:
The home side were still looking strong in the opening minutes of the second period:
The 53rd minute saw a chance for Town but the No.8 scuffed his shot badly when he probably should have done better.
54th Minute – Town free-kick from 25 yards out, No.6 shot over the bar.
55th Minute – Llanrhaeadr No.9 with yet another header, this time from close range which was well saved by the Town Goalkeeper.
57th Minute – Mad scramble in the home side penalty area, the Town right full back produced a fine cross. The first attempt at goal came of the bar then the rebound was well tipped round the post by the Llanrhaeadr goalkeeper.
From the resulting corner Town got themselves an equalizer. No.7 headed powerfully home.
Only a minute later Town almost went 2-1 up. A good strong run from their left winger ending with him shooting wide of goal.
The game had completely been turned on it’s head following this passage of play and after the dominance of the home side in the first half and couldn’t quite believe how this would have been possible.
The game was now very competitive and being played at a very fast pace.
65th Minute – No.10 for the home side found himself clean through on goal, but shot staright at the goalkeeper.
67th Minute – No.2 for Llanrhaeadr tried his luck from distance but his effort was well tipped over by the goalkeeper. From the resulting corner they had a goal disallowed for a foul on the goalkeeper. I couldn’t really see anything wrong and thought the goal should have stood.
73rd Minute – following a poor clearance from the home defence, the Town No. 14 shot wide.
85th Minute – Town grabbed a second goal, a very fast break saw the ball eventually end up at the feet of No.14 in lots of space who finished calmly past the goalkeeper.
The home side tried their best to grab an equalizer in the dying minutes of the game. No.6 had a great effort well saved by the Town Goalkeeper on 90 minutes.
Deep into injury time the home side were awarded a penalty, which I think was given for an elbow by The Town defender.
The No.9 stepped up but his shot was brilliantly saved by the Town goalkeeper diving to his right and pushing the ball away.
The final scored ended 1-2. I thought that this was harsh on Llanrhaeadr who at least deserved a draw and maybe even a win such was their dominance in the first half.
