The first team hosted near neighbours Llangedwyn in the first round of the Montgomeryshire Cup yesterday. The visitors took the lead with the first attack of the game on 5 minutes. It was then one way traffic with Llan pressing down the hill, but the Llangedwyn rear guard standing firm. The visiting keeper was in fine form, making numerous good saves. He was beaten on 35 minutes with a thunderous strike by Iain Edmunds, but this crashed into the crossbar.

The second half followed a similar vein with Llan in the ascendancy. However chances were taken this time. On 50 minutes Khyam Wytton on opened the home team's account with a precise finish. 2 minutes later debutant Sam College latched onto a ball that was lose in the six yard box to score his first goal for the club. On 65 minutes Dan Graham got his first of the season with a header after good work from Iain Edmunds down the left. Thescoring was completed on 70 minutes with Khyam getting his second of the afternoon. Jimmy Hayns, a second half substitute, was employed in a holding role in the midfield and kept the ball moving well. The side saw out the game efficiently to go into the hat for the next round.
