The first team were back in action after a three week break looking to right a few wrongs from the previous game. Llan started brightly and were ahead after 2 minutes. Tom Evans broke down the left and crossed the ball for Marc Griffiths to get in front of the defender and head in at the near post. Llan were well on top and Iwan Matthews and Khyam Wytton both had efforts go just wide inside the first 15 minutes. Llan were then forced into an early change with Chris Aitken limping off to be replaced by Dan Weaver. Conwy were back in the game after 25 minutes when they converted a penalty after a foul by Tom Bailey. The game was now very much in the balance with both sides having periods of dominance. Tom Evans flashed the ball across the face of the goal on 43 minutes while Conwy struck the bar on 44.
Half Time Firsts 1 Conwy 1
Llan were rejuvenated at the start of the second half and again started brightly. Iwan Matthews was fouled on 49 minutes and the resultant free kick was put into the wall by Glenn. On 62 minutes Llan re-took the lead. Iain Edmunds crossed the ball from a free kick on the left, Marc rose and headed strongly, forcing the keeper into a good save, and Joe Vaughan was at hand to poke the re-bound in from close range. This sparked wild celebrations from the players. There was 30 minutes to hang on. Llan were indeed disciplined in defence and were making it difficult for the visitors. However they still looked dangerous on the break and set pieces. When the defence was breached keeper Jimmy Hayns was in fine form. During the last 10 minutes he was called into action and produced 2 fine saves. In the last minute Tom Evans was put clear but unfortunately his lob crept wide of the post.
